We arrived from Valencia after a magical stay in a great city, after a journey of a little over an hour; this included a standard Decathlon visit for some BBQ gas. The journey was smooth and views stunning as the kids listened to our family starred list on Spotify.

Arriving at the Oliva Nova Golf area felt like an achievement after 6 weeks on the road in a motorhome with kids, wife and golf clubs in tow. Arriving in Sassy our motorhome, the roads were clean and access great. Palm trees were everywhere.
The main reason for coming down to the Valencian region was to play some golf – both H-9 and A-12 have been playing regularly for a year and a half (3-4 times a week).

We arrived at Camping Ole – a site filled with older long-stay carravaners, mainly from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. L – always enjoys staying where the older people are, they give a degree of comfort. The site was welcoming and clean.
Camping Ole has great facilities, is only 60 yards from a sandy, warm, clear watered beach. However, the pitches for our 8m long (with 4 bikes on back) were very tight and I hit the roof on a tree coming in. If you’re not confident – pre-check your pitch (we didn’t and nearly got stuck).

Before we set off in late August 2026, both kids had trimmed their golf clubs down to 5 clubs each, and we had ordered some compact, squish-able golf bags.
Another reason we chose this campsite was that it is a 6 minute bike ride to Oliva Nova Golf Club. The roads to the entrance are calm so taking H and A on bikes with helmets wasn’t a problem – they rode great.
Oliva Nova has an 18 hole course, a pitch and putt area, bunker practice area, and a driving range – we were very excited.

The journey to the club was very easy on bikes with our clubs over our shoulders. The roads were super quiet.
The Oliva Nova course was lush and green, staff super friendly and the water features well kept.
The kids played great. They two-putted most holes which was a suprise after 6 weeks in a motorhome with no golf practice. It certainly kept their scores down. The kids were a little rusty off the tee but hit some class mid-range shots.
Of note on the last hole, both kids wedged on from 70 yards, over an obstacle, to within 8 yards of the hole. A massive win for Dad.

We finished the 9 holes, grabbed a drink, then cycled home. A great afternoon. We are hitting the 5 hole pitch and putt tomorrow when we are checked into an AirBnB.
TIPS:
- Trim your clubs down in size. To save space.
- Think strategically – woods can be used as drivers.
- Golf tip – for the kids putting. S. L. A. Y – SITE LINE ANGLES YARDAGE.
- If in a motorhome, check your pitch before moving onto it.
- Water is expensive – get some from the shop over the road before entry. Take a lot. There is a Carrefour Express opposite the club.
- The club has a bar in the club house – there is also a Tiki-Bar across the road.
- Paddle is available on site and equipment can be rented from reception.
- Use a squishable golf bag if travelling light.
- Kids practicing with different clubs for different shots is great experience for them. The kids were using a 9 out the bunkers….
