In between our cosy nights in our motorhome and the kids doing cartwheels and playing football and tennis on the grass next to our pitch, we found a rotation of things we really enjoyed doing in Stratford.
There were loads of amazing dog (and child) friendly places in the town, but we stuck to those things which suited us mostly. We didn’t want to spend too much money for only some of our party to go into the non-dog friendly places, so we generally sightsaw and wandered. Here’s what we did do:
- Walked along the river bank, on the opposite side of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, to the kids playing grounds and fields
- Took the lift up to the very top of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre to see the view (not dog friendly, but it took 10 mins and the kids loved it, especially as they got to wave at me and dog from the giant window)
- Walked to the church where Shakespeare is buried. The walk was really pretty and we sat on a bench at the church for a good chunk of time, watching the boats go past and the weeping willows
- Ate Gelato at Hoorays
- Visited the Oxfam bookshop to look for treasures
- Took a tour of Tudor World, a brilliant little dog friendly museum! Our dog was a bit suspicious of the dark place we were taking him at first, but really enjoyed trotting round in the end. They are super dog friendly, which is lovely
- Listened to many street musicians around the centre,especially in the gardens next to the river
- Drank boba tea for the first time. It was delicious
