Getting into Europa Park is super easy. We were staying at the Silver Lake City Motorhome site.
This was only a 15 minute walk to the main entrance of Europa Park. We paid about €65 euros each (pre-booked).
A quick mention to the below amazing machine that cleans and refills our soil-cassette for the Motorhome. Dad’s new favourite holiday memory……
As you head towards the entrance, you walk underneath the Silverstar rollercoaster, which is one of the prime attractions at the park. We felt for our 9 and 12-year-old that Silver Star would be too much for them……. Or would it?!
Getting in couldn’t be easier. Even though the place was heaving the German efficiency strikes again and we were in.
We used the mono-rail to get to the other side of the park straight away. This seemed like a great choice, as when we arrived at the other side of the park, it was very calm, and quiet. We managed to blast on to a couple of fun thrilling rides with little to no queues.
The Alpine Express – the kids loved. We went on it twice and really enjoyed it. The ride was fast and thrilling, enough for us adults but not too much for our 9 year old girl.
After the Alpine Express we jumped over to a rollercoaster called Arthur. Even queueing up for this experiential rollercoaster was super fun. The queue is themed and made the it feel really short even though it was 25 minute.
We went on this ride twice and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Smiles all round and perfect for my children’s age. Also thrilling for adults.
As we downloaded the app, we decided to make the most of the virtual queueing system. You basically sign up for a virtual timeslot to arrive at the specified rollercoaster.
We decided that Euro-Mir would be the one for us. It was recommended for eight years and above. We literally turned up and was on the rollercoaster within five minutes. The virtual queueing system worked so well.
Sadly after the first three minutes on this ride we discovered that this rollercoaster was far too much for our youngest. She is nine years old. Even though she is above the recommended lower age limit. We wouldn’t do this ride again.
Later in the day A and I got up a bit of courage and went on Silver Star – which was very extreme for me as a 39 year old. But A handled it like a champ.
Start of queue to finish we were off the ride and getting hugs from loved ones within 15 minutes. Unbelievably quick. This whole park has been epically well run and organised.
Towards the end of the day we headed to Italy where there were lots of smaller rides that offered a lot of entertainment for our young daughter. This location was perfect as well as Ireland to finish off.
The mega-slides-play-area were an epic send off.
Crafty Tips:
- Take picnic as things are expensive.
- Download the app for wait times and virtual queuing for some rides.
- With younger kids make the most of the smaller rides when you see them.
- Play ground @ Yomi Abenteuer Trail – great fun for letting the kids have some alone time while L and I had a sit down.
- Recycle your cups – get money back.
- Ireland is also good for younger kids from 4-11. Amazing slides.
- Ride the – Pirates of Bavaria. A lot of fun.
- The nice easy rides for preteens are dotted around and off-peak the queues were less than 5 minutes.
- Poseidon was a winner.
- Mega slides play area in Ireland a great finish near the entrance.
